Bahareh Moghtadaei, MT-BC

Bahareh Moghtadaei, MT-BC is a board-certified music therapist and a master percussionist, well known for her diverse abilities as a musician, performer, drummer and multi-instrumentalist.  Bahareh was born in Tehran. At the young age of four she started learning Tonbak.  She also plays the Tar, Piano, Guitar and Autoharp along with other percussion instruments. Bahareh graduated from Sooreh University in Tehran with a BA in Music.

In 2001, Bahareh joined the Rozaneh Ensemble.  With Rozaneh, she began her professional career, performing and recording and has performed in many important music festivals world-wide and toured extensively in Europe.  Over the years, Bahareh also became acquainted with some of the masters in World music, performing with them locally and on tour in the US and Europe.


In 2005, upon immigration to the United States, Bahareh continued her education in Music Therapy at California State University of Northridge. Bahareh completed her clinical internship for music therapy at Musicworx of California, a music therapy contracting and consulting agency located in Memorial Scripps Hospital, CA.  There, she worked on both behavioral health and medical units. Her clinical experience in music therapy encompassing numerous populations including, intellectual and developmental disability, autism, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, wellness, Cardiac health issues, Parkinson's disease, acute surgical, medical, rehabilitation, pulmonary respiratory, Rett Syndrome, and brain injuries. Bahareh also has worked at Ronald McDonald Children Hospital in San Diego, Northridge Hospital and Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and other facilities.

In 2006, Bahareh joined UCLA Middle Eastern Ensemble and SK Middle Eastern Ensemble as a percussionist playing the Riqq. She has performed with Souhail Kaspar, Grammy-nominated and master percussionist in Los Angeles and Mendocino. In May of 2012 Bahareh was chosen as one of the Remo's artists to be involved in ROCK THE RHYTHM BEAT THE ODDS to break the world largest drum circle record In Summer of 2012, Bahareh has been awarded the Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative (SCCPI) Group Award for Excellence in Pain Management. Bahareh also chosen as judge for the 2012 drum-off competition at Guitar Center.  Bahareh is also pleased to be associated with Remo as an endorsed facilitator.
